Five breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed in Aleppo

Lattakia – The Russian Coordination center said that terrorist groups breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria 5  times in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of beaches to 596 since the agreement  came into effect on 27 February 2016, SANA reported.

The center, based in Hmeimim airbase, added in a statement on Wednesday that five breaches  were observed in Aleppo where the so-called Jaish al-Islam targeted the two neighborhoods of  al-Zahraa and al-Khalediya with mortar rounds.

On the other hand, the total number of towns that joined the cessation of hostilities

agreement remained 117 as the number of armed groups which announced commitment to the  agreement remained 59, the center indicated.

The center pointed out that terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization continued attacks and targeted with mortar rounds and rocket shells Handarat refugees camp, al-Nayrab airport and the two neighborhoods of al-Sheikh Maqsoud, Salah Eddin in Aleppo, and al-Foua’a town in Idleb province as well as a number of towns in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.

The Russian center affirmed that neither Syrian nor Russian air force targeted any position for the groups that announced commitment to the cessation of hostilities agreement.
