Terrorist Blasts in Jableh, Tartous a Dangerous Escalation Aiming at Undermining Efforts to Stop Bloodshed in Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has described the terrorist blasts which rocked Tartous and Jableh on Monday as a dangerous escalation by the extremist regimes in Riyadh, Ankara and Doha aiming at undermining efforts to stop bloodshed in Syria, at foiling Geneva intra-Syrian talks and at hindering the implementation of the truce and the cessation of hostilities agreement reached.

 Addressing the UN Chief and President of the Security Council in two identical letters on Monday, the ministry affirmed that attempts by some influential countries at the Security Council to pressure the Council as to keep silent about the savage acts of the terrorist organizations in different parts of Syria and not to adopt any immediate deterrent punitive actions against the regimes supporting terrorism, particularly in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, have allowed these regimes to give more orders to their terrorist tools in Syria as to persist in committing more crimes and terrorist acts against the Syrians.

The ministry pointed out that representatives of the United States, France, Britain and Ukraine at the Security Council have blocked a bid to blacklist  “Jaish al-Islam” and “Ahrar al-Sham” terrorist groups and insisted to continue labeling them as “armed moderate opposition. It stressed that rejecting such a bid confirms these countries’ intention to keep ignoring the crimes of the terrorist organizations and proves that they are not serious about fighting terrorism.
