The army establishes control over 3 strategic points near Palmyra, kills more ISIS terrorists in other areas

Provinces – More terrorists are getting killed as the army units, backed by the Air Force, continued Sunday striking their positions in various areas, with their equipment and vehicles destroyed in the operations, according to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

Homs

A military source announced that the army units and popular defense groups established control over three strategic points in in the direction of al-Mazar Mountain northeast of Palmyra in Homs province.

The Point of al-Hari Citadel as well as Points 619 and 711  came under the army’s control after the remaining gatherings of ISIS terrorists were eliminated there.

 Earlier, the source said the army’s air force destroyed ISIS terrorists’ positions and vehicles in the vicinity of al-Shaer oil field in the eastern countryside of the province.

ISIS positions and vehicles were destroyed in the army air force sorties on their dens in the villages of Abu Joreis, Unq al-Hawa, Um Sahreej, Um al-Reesh and Um Tababeer.

A field source said that an army unit carried out an operation, targeting a den for leaders of terrorist organization of Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Quneitrat village in al-Rastan town, adding that the terrorist Hussein Nawaf al-Nassif was killed in addition to many others during the operation.

Hama

Army units clashed with Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorist groups which attacked a number of military posts in the vicinity of al-Zara town, 30 km south of Hama countryside, a military source said on Sunday.

The clashes ended with the attack foiled, killing 25 terrorists and destroying 3 armored vehicles, while the rest of terrorists escaped towards the surrounding villages in Hama southern countryside where terrorists are positioned.

Deir Ezzor

In the eastern Deir Ezzor province, the army’s air force destroyed ISIS terrorists’ fortified positions, armored vehicles and and pickup vehicles equipped with machineguns in the vicinity of the Airport and to the southwest of Deir Ezzor city.

An army unit carried out concentrated operations against ISIS terrorists’ gatherings and positions in the vicinity of al-Tharda Mountain in the southeastern countryside of the Province.

32 ISIS terrorists at least were killed, and two vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition were destroyed during the operations.

Another army unit clashed with a group of ISIS terrorists that attempted to infiltrate from Hweijet  Saqer in the vicinity of Deir-Ezzor city towards al-Sina’a neighborhood, where many of the terrorists were either killed or injured.

Sweida

In southern Syria, an army unit targeted ISIS terrorists’ gatherings in al-Qaser village at the outskirts of the Badyia area in Sweida southern province, killing many of the terrorists and destroying a vehicle equipped with a machinegun.
