Popular Defense Groups Ambush Terrorists, Confiscate Smuggled Weapons in Sweida

SWEIDA – The popular defense groups killed a number of terrorists while they were trying to smuggle weapons and ammunition near Kou Hadar in the northern countryside of Sweida province, SANA reported.

 A source at Sweida Governorate told SANA on Friday that a popular defense unit ambushed a terrorist group in Kou al-Hadar area while it was smuggling munitions through al-Lajat towards the eastern Badiya (desert) and clashed with it, leaving a number of the group’s members dead or injured.

The source added that various types of arms and ammunition including, 60 mm mortar shells, B9 shells, RPG rounds, grenades and a shoulder-fired missile were confiscated.
