Army Kills Scores of ISIS Terrorists in Deir Ezzour, Inflicts Heavy Losses Upon Jabhat al-Nusra Affiliates in Daraa

PROVINCES- The Syrian Arab Army, backed by the popular defense groups, on Thursday continued targeting terrorists across the country, destroying their positions, vehicles and foiling their infiltration and attack attempts, according to SANA.

Deir Ezzor

Units of the army and the armed forces destroyed ISIS gatherings and vehicles in Deir Ezzor Province.

A field source told SANA that a unit of the army eliminated a terrorist group affiliated to the ISIS terrorist organization while attempting to infiltrate at night into al-Panorama roundabout and to the vicinity of one of the military posts to the southwest of Deir Ezzor City.

The source added that 3 of the ISIS terrorists were killed and a Pick-up loaded with ammunition was destroyed in a special operation carried out against one of the ISIS gatherings in al-Mray’aia village to the east of Deir Ezzor military airport.

In the city, units of the army clashed with the ISIS terrorists in al-Erfi and al-Sina’a neighborhoods, killing a large number of them and injuring others, in addition to destroying machinegun-equipped vehicles and a bulldozer they were using in the fortification works.

Meanwhile, a unit of the army destroyed two of the ISIS car bombs which were loaded with high explosives before reaching military posts in al-Tharda Mountain to the southeast of Deir Ezzor City.

Daraa

A unit of the army and the armed forces clashed with terrorist groups, most of them affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, in the vicinity of Tal Qarin in the northwestern countryside of Daraa province.

A unit of the army  foiled an attack launched by Jabhat al-Nusra-affiliated terrorist groups and the so-called “al-Furqan Brigades” on military posts in Tal Qarin to the northeast of Kafr Nasej in the countryside of the province.

Heavy losses were inflicted upon the terrorists in the personnel and the military equipment.

Sweida

Popular defense groups thwarted ISIS terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate into al-Lajat area near Kou’ Hadar in the northern countryside of Sweida Province.

A unit of popular defense groups ambushed ISIS terrorist groups coming from the Eastern al-Badiya area that attempted to infiltrate into al-Lajat area on the administrative borderlines between Daraa and Sweida provinces.

Members of the terrorist group were either killed or injured during the clashes.

On Tuesday, authorities confiscated a vehicle loaded with different sorts of weapons and explosives, some of which are U.S. and Israeli-made in the western countryside of Sweida.
