DAMASCUS, (ST)- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham on Tuesday received leader of the Mauritanian Ravah (welfare) Party Mohamed Ould Vall and discussed with him the role of Arab parties and movements in increasing the nationalist pan-Arab awareness in the service of the central Arab cause (the Palestinian cause) and of solid inter-Arab relations.
During the meeting, al-Laham expressed appreciation of the pan-Arab political parties and currents which believe that the Arab people have a common future and destiny and believe in the right of nations to be sovereign and independent, according to SANA.
He hailed the stance of the Mauritanian people in standing by their fellow Arab people of Syria, calling for concerting efforts in the face of the fierce western terrorist attack that is getting more intense against the Arab countries.
On his part, Ould Vall stressed the Mauritanian people’s support for the people, army and leadership in Syria in the face of their war against the terrorist organizations despite all the foreign pressure, pointing out that some media outlets have played a misleading role in distorting facts in an attempt to undermine Syria as part of the major scheme of dismembering the whole region.
Al-Hilal meets delegation of Mauritanian Ravah Party
On Monday, Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal met with Ould Vall and stressed that national and pan-Arab stances of the Syrian leadership are firm and principled. He added that Damascus doors are still open to all Arab honest and free men.
Al-Hilal hailed the courageous stances of the party and all other parties in Mauritania towards events in Syria.
He affirmed that relations between the peoples in Syria and Mauritania are strong and deeply rooted in all fields, pointing to al-Baath party’s will to establish best relations with the Mauritanian national parties.
Chairman of the Mauritanian Rafah party, on his part, said that Syria defends the Arab nation by its fight against terrorism, appreciating the wise leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad and the courage of the Syrian Arab army.
