Syria, Armenia Discuss Joint Investment

Damascus,(ST) – Director General of the Syrian Investment Authority (SIA),Inass al Umawi, discussed yesterday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Damascus Dr. Irshak Buladian prospects of joint investment and trade exchange between Syria and Armenia.

During the meeting held at the headquarters of the SIA, Miss. Al Umawi expressed hope for upgrading joint investment between the two countries, indicating that the level of the establishment of Armenian investment projects in Syria contributes to boost production and support the national economy.

She stressed the readiness to provide the Armenian side with accurate information on the locations, investment opportunities and an investment map in Syria.

For his part, Mr. Buladian confirmed that there is a possibility for the development of economic and investment relations between the two countries, which are linked to historical and ancient relationships.

The ambassador noted to the areas of joint investment between the two countries as Armenia possesses the elements of production and investment in the sectors of food products, metals, technology, agriculture, construction and reconstruction.

For his part, Member of the Syrian Business Council, Badraic Oidnyan, clarified that there are joint investments between the two countries in the industrial, commercial and technological fields, stressing that the Council is constantly working to revitalize and enhance mutual investment and trade cooperation.
