Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Offers Condolences on Martyrdom of Hizbollah Senior Commander

BEIRUT, (ST)- Delegated by President Bashar Al-Assad, Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim on Friday offered condolences and congratulations to Hizbollah on the martyrdom of senior resistance commander Mustafa Badreddin (Sayyed Zulfiqar).

Abdul Karim, who expressed his heartfelt condolences and congratulations to Hizbollah and the family of the martyr,  said “the blood of martyr Badreddin will be a sign of great victory for Syria and the axis of resistance over takfiri terrorists and their supporters.”

Hezbollah Announces Martyrdom of Senior Commander in Syria

Hizbollah, the Lebanese resistance movement, on Friday announced the martyrdom of senior military commander Mustafa Badreddin (Sayyed Zulfiqar) in Syria.

In a statement early on Friday, Hezbollah said that a huge blast hit one of the resistance centers near Damascus airport, according to al-ManarTV website.

 An investigation will take place in order to verify whether the blast was a result of an airstrike or shelling, the statement said, noting that more information will be announced later.

In an earlier statement, Hezbollah praised Badreddine as a great resistance leader who took part in most of  the Islamic resistance operations since 1982.

“Following a life full of Jihad, captivity, wounds and great qualitative achievements, Sayyed Zulfiqar concluded his life with martyrdom,” Hizbollah said in the statement as reported by Al-Manar TV.

The statement added “Hajj Mustafa Badreddin came back today wrapped with the banner of victory which he established through his bitter fight against the Takfiri groups in Syria.
