Syria Takes Part in 8th Scientific Conference of ICM

Tehran, (ST) –Deliberations of the 8th Scientific Conference of Islamic Capital Market” (ICM) started yesterday here with the participation of Syria. Representatives of several countries, including Russia, Germany, France, Switzerland, South Korea, China, India, Greece, Pakistan, Nigeria and experts from the Iranian capital market are taking part in the conference.

Head of Exchange Markets Commission in Syria Dr. Abdul Rahman Mari’said in a statement “The two-day conference will discuss Islamic financial institutions in the context of the application of the law and the study of past and future performance with the aim of defining the world  of Islamic dimensions of the capital market of Iran and the capabilities  of Islamic capital.

“Islamic banks have not been affected by the crisis experienced by the world because of the moral and material governance pursued by the Islamic banks,” Dr. Mari’ clarified.

It is worth mentioned that Syria signed last year with the Iranian side a memorandum of understanding in the banking industry in an effort to take advantage of Iran’s experiences in this field.
