Tehran– Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati said on Monday that Iran’s policy is based on broadening relations with other countries.

Speaking to France’s Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Christian Masse, Velayati said establishment of relations among countries takes time while destroying or stopping it is done speedily.
He said he had once met French President Francois Mitterrand and also met Jacques Chirac and Nicola Sarkozy.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran holds a positive attitude towards France and ‘I hope serious and practical steps will be taken for expansion of relations. If Europe takes a united stance, French position will be definitely effective.’
On the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Velayati said fulfillment of commitments is of utmost importance and France should play an effective role in this connection.
Masse said, for his part, that his talks with Iranian officials today, especially the political talks held in the foreign ministry, have been fruitful and said, ‘We are now in a sensitive juncture; it is both for France and Iran. The meetings are of importance from this point of view. The JCPOA should show its effects and the visit of President Hassan Rouhani to Paris should also revealed its effects. The political talks we started with Iran should show their effects more.’
He said Velayati has made an effective contribution to expansion of Tehran-Paris cooperation through his visits to France.
Results of execution of JCPOA should be tangible, says Ravanchi
On the other hand,Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and America MajidTakht-e Ravanchi said on Monday that results of execution of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action should be tangible for the Iranian nation.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Christian Masset.
Referring to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Paris, he said that ground is ready for expansion of all-out ties between Iran and France.
Iran has been bound to its obligations enshrined in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and other sides of the talks should do the same in a way that Iranian nation will witness the tangible results of execution of the nuclear deal, the deputy foreign minister said.
He noted that Iran is ready to cooperate with France on regional issues.
Masset for his part called Iran an influential county in the region and said that Paris welcomes expansion of bilateral ties with Iran as well as cooperation on regional issues.
He said France is doing its best to facilitate enhancement of economic ties with Iran by removal of banking obstacles.
Tehran and Paris cooperation for countering terrorists’ threats and resolution of regional issues is necessary, the official added.
