600 artworks by 435 students featured in Damascus

The exhibition held yesterday by the ‘Yoshe’a Mansour’ Institute of visual art featured more than 600 art works made by 435 students.

Some works depicted sacrifices of the Syrian woman during the current circumstances and the Syrian youths’ immigration, according to the official news agency (SANA), which interviewed several participants in the exhibition.

A second-year student at the institute said that she made a painting on Syrian youths’ risky immigration. “Syria needs all its people to rebuild it,” she added.

Her classmate used remnants from her father’ metal workshop to make sculptures of human being, while another student -in cooperation with her teacher – made a metal horse sculpture to show the Syrian woman’s ability to work in all fields including blacksmithing.

There were also other works made by Persons with Special Needs to encourage them to communicate with other people and to give them a chance to develop their skills.

Every year, the ‘Yoshe’a Mansour’ Instituteand the school theater department in the Ministry of Education hold exhibition for the works of the first-year and second-year students.
