Food Expo to Kick off Today

Damascus, (ST)- Delta Group for Economics and Business and the organizing works of the Food Industry and Packaging “Food Expo 2016” completed preparations for the launch of the exhibition on the evening of Monday at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus with the participation of the major national food industry companies and in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and the support of the Syrian Federal Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

 Head of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Mohammad, Ghassan Qalla’, underlined the support of chambers of commerce to exhibitions, including the food industry exhibition “Food Expo” because of this support activates the production wheel, selling good,  operation of labor and export, pointing out that such exhibitions promote the food industries and contribute significantly also to the promotion of industrial products for domestic consumption and export.

In a statement to local press, Mr. al -Qalla’ said that any support for any type of industry by the government or from any other body eases the elements of cost and is considered an important factor in providing a less expensive and cheaper commodity.

For his part, Manager of the Organizing Group of Food Expo Ghyath Chamma’ stressed that the exhibition is a window to promote these industries that have proved their endurance, despite the circumstances they face because of the crisis experienced by the country and the pursuit of the  producing companies to meet the local market needs of food products.

He explained that the three- day exhibition will be a part of the successes that have been achieved in the previous sessions on the levels of trade promotion and development of investments and the definition of technical developments to the world of food, manufacturing and packaging system.

 The event will be also a forum for businessmen, manufacturers and suppliers of food to brief them on the most recent ideas, innovations and business deals and to shed light on ways to activate trade movement to facilitate the definition of these products and pushing the cycle of development in the world of food industry.
