President Al-Assad to Senator Black: Eliminating Terrorism Necessitates Collective International Efforts

DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the terrorist attacks which targeted several areas in the world prove again that terrorism recognizes no borders and that eliminating terrorism needs collective international efforts not only at the military level but also at the level of fighting the extremist Wahhabi mentality which feeds terrorism.

President Al-Assad made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with US Senator Richard Black.  Talks during the meeting dealt with the situation in Syria and the foreign-backed terrorist war the country is being exposed to.

On his part, Senator Black said “it is important to get the American people acquainted with what is really going on in Syria away from the misleading policies practiced by some parties in the American administration.”

He reiterated that great efforts should be exerted as to lift the economic sanctions imposed on Syria and which constitute a flagrant violation of international laws.
