A special preparation for producing a new short narrative documentary movie on al-Sweida history has begun in the governorate’s various archeological sites.
The movie which is under the title of “al-Basalt Memory” was written by the distinguished writer Mamdoh Hamada and it will be directed by Qosai al-Assami with the participation of many talented Syrian actors.
The dramatic work will focus on al-Sweida various archeological sites in addition to the intellectual creative potentials of the city’s inhabitants in all domains.
The movie will form an educational identity for Sweida governorate. It will give an artistic panel on the city’s different villages and sites.
The actors of the movie are symbols of certain characters who played main roles in developing the governorate’s social, intellectual, and humanitarian fields.
The 30- minutes movie works on refreshing the expatriates ‘ memory and it is also constituting a bid that aimed at promoting their national ties with their homeland Syria.
The filming works which will last for 8- months are scheduled to begin at the beginning of next year in further than one archeological sites in Sweida.
The movie first presentation will be in Sweida city, the second will be in Damascus and the third will be in the United Arab Emirates. Later the movie is scheduled to be presented in Nigeria, Brazil and in Canada due to the big number of the Syrian expatriates in these countries.
The cinematographic works constitute a new experiment for its director “Qosai al-Assami” who is also the director of “Wamadat “movie whish presented in Toronto international festival in Canada.
Qosai al-Assami is currently also working on directing a dramatic movie under the title of “a box of matches”.
Al-basalt Memory’s hero Marwan abo- Shaheen cited during a press conference on the movie in al-Amer hotel in Sweida that the movie which is financing by a number of al-Sweida expatriates is also aiming at giving a civilized picture of Al-Sweida through shedding light on its history and its archeological heritage.
” The movie will enrich my dramatic experiment” the hero said, highlighting the notable efforts of the author and the director of the movie.
During his statement Abo – Shaheen also gave briefing on his dramatic acts, including the “Dawaran movie” of the director Wassim’ al-Said and the movie “Under the moonlight” of the director Ghassan Shoumait in addition to a short narrative movie under the title of “the Silence of Colors” for the director Kawthar al-Ma’arawi .
For his part, the writer Mohammad Tarabai also said during the press conference that the documentary dramatic movie aimed at strengthening ties between the expatriates and their homeland Syria especially during current ordeal our homeland is passing through.
The writer concluded his statement by saying that the movie will play key role in reflecting our homeland’s civilized position, namely during current conspiracy that aimed at deforming our advanced civilized position throughout history.
