Locals of al-Rhaibeh Town in Damascus Countryside Receive Russian Humanitarian Aid

DAMASCUS- Hundreds of locals affected by terrorism in al-Rhaibeh town of Damascus Countryside on Saturday received a batch of humanitarian aid offered by the Russian government. The aid was distributed in cooperation with the National Reconciliation Ministry.

Earlier today, a Russian plane arrived to Damascus International Airport carrying humanitarian aid provided by the government and the people of Russia to the Syrian people including various relief items and children’s requirements which will be distributed to a number of orphanages in Damascus in addition to hundreds of locals affected by terrorism in al-Rhaibeh city, SANA reported.

 Yuri Zrayev, representative of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimeem said in a statement that the aid “is offered by the Russian people to the Syrian people with whom they have strong relationships.”

He added that the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimeem continues work to consolidate the cessation of hostilities and to communicate with the armed groups to join the agreement and act to defeat terrorism completely.

A Russian medical team provided medical services to patients in al-Rhaibeh city, 50 kilometers northeast Damascus Countryside.

In turn Ahmed Adas, deputy governor of Damascus Countryside said that the Russian aid to al-Rhaibeh expresses the solidarity and support of the friendly Russian government and people with Syria.
