Armed groups breach Cessation of Hostilities agreement 7 times in last 24 hours, RCC

Lattakia – The Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim said that the armed groups committed 7 new breaches of the Cessation of Hostilities agreement in Syria during the past 24 hours, putting the number of breaches since February 27 at 413, SANA reported.

The agreement, which came into effect on 27 February, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS terrorist organizations and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.

The Russian center said in a statement, published on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday that it observed 7 breaches carried out by the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham”, three of them in Lattakia and one in Saladin neighborhood in Aleppo.

It added “Ahrar al-Sham gunmen” shelled positions of the Syrian army in the countryside of Damascus, affirming that the Russian air force did not target any positions for armed groups which announced their commitment to the agreement and informed the American and Russian coordination centers of their sites.

The number of towns which joined the Cessation of Hostilities agreement has reached 70, while the number of armed groups that had announced commitment remains 50, the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim reported.

“The center, in cooperation with Homs province, delivered 6 tons of humanitarian aid to a number of areas in the province” the center indicated in its statement.
