DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad will visit the Czech Republic on April 20-22 for talks with Czech officials on the situation in Syria.
According to a statement issued by the Czech Foreign Ministry on Monday, al-Mikdad’s official visit aims at contributing to the implementation of the Security Council resolutions relating to Syria, at intensifying the Czech humanitarian support for Syria in cooperation with the Czech Embassy in Damascus and at supporting the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva.
Al-Mikdad is due to meet several Czech officials including ministers of finance, foreign affairs and industry as well as the deputy foreign ministers for European and economic affairs, the ministry said.
Al-Mikdad’s visit comes five months after the visit of the Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Tlaba to Damascus in November.
