President Al-Assad Receives Congratulation cable form Iran’s Larijani on Success of Parliamentary Elections

TEHRAN, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday received a cable of congratulations from Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on the success of Syria’s parliamentary elections.

In his cable, Larijani stressed that Iran’s strategy is based on establishing comprehensive and strong cooperation with the Syrian government and people as to achieve security and stability in the region.

  The Iranian parliament speaker said that despite security and political challenges as well as threats made by terrorist groups, the Syrian people showed massive turnout in the polls.

“The election process, particularly the Syrians’ huge participation, was an important regional and international event. It proved the Syrian people’s rallying behind their leader being a symbol of independence and resistance,” according to Larijani.

He said he was confident that Syria will soon come to peace in the light of the resistance and sustainability of the Syrian government and people against terrorist groups and their regional and international supporters.
