Cuba’s Castro: The Syrians will Manage to Find Political Solution to Crisis in Syria

HAVANA , (ST)-President Raul Castro of Cuba on Saturday said he was confident that the Syrian people and government will manage to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria; a solution that preserves Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Castro, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 7the Conference of the Cuban Communist Party on Saturday, said the large numbers of refugees flocking towards Europe were the result of foreign interferences and wars incited by foreign parties. Castro condemned the double standards adopted when dealing with human rights issues.

He also condemned all forms of terrorism anywhere in the world, pointing out that Cuba itself has been a victim of terrorism since the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban President also condemned the Israeli occupation of Palestine and other Arab territories; an occupation that has been hindering reaching peace in the Middle East.
