Tehran– Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African affairs said Tuesday that the Syrian people are the only one that have right to decide for their country’s fate without foreign interference.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with a number of political and social scholars from French National Center for Scientific Research.
Iran’s foreign policy is based on interaction with neighbors, international support for solving the Syrian crisis and regional peace and stability, said Amir Abdollahian, according to IRNA.
Talking on the developments in the Western Asia and critical situation in the region, the diplomat stressed importance of following up the political trends to fight terrorism.
Political solutions can weaken extremism and terrorism, said Amir Abdollahian, calling on regional countries to adopt reasonable policies in order to cross the critical phase.
He also called for international support for the regional people.
Insecure conditions in some parts of Europe and refugee crisis are results of wrong policies adopted by certain countries on terrorism.
For his part, Francois Burgat who is head of the visiting French delegation said Iran plays an effective role in the region. He underlined importance of international cooperation with Iran.
