Nilesat’s Blocking of “al-Manar TV” Broadcast a Response to Zionist Dictates

TEHRAN, (ST)- The Nilesat’s decision to block the Lebanese “al-Manar TV” Broadcast was a response to the Zionist dictates, the Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) stressed in a statement on Saturday.

Condemning the unfair decision, the IRTVU said  blocking al-Manar TV  was an attempt to silence the voice of resistance against the Zionist domination schemes and the takfiri project in the region.

The Union condemned all attempts to oppress the internationally-guaranteed freedom of speech and expressed rejection of all anti-media practices.

“All the pretexts and accusations made against al-Manar TV are baseless,” the union’s  statement said, pointing out that “history is a witness to the courage of this channel and to the sublime values and principles al-Manar TV has adopted in conveying the truth.”

Nilesat Satellite Company, which has blocked al-Manar TV, also threatened to halt the broadcasting of other Lebanese channels like (NBN) and “Al-Jadeed” allegedly because the Lebanese government hasn’t renewed the contract it signed with the company.
