Syria, Algeria Stress Unified Stance on Need to Combat Terrorism

ALGIERS, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem and the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra have stressed the unified stance of Syria and Algeria on the need to combat and eliminate terrorism which has become a dangerous plague threatening the region and the entire world.

During their meeting on Monday the two ministers also discussed enhancing prospects of cooperation in all domain.

 

Lamamra held a dinner banquet in honor of al-Moallem and the accompanying delegation attended by a number of ministers, senior foreign ministry officials and the Syrian Ambassador in Algiers Numer Ghanem.

Earlier upon his arrival in Algiers, al-Moallem told reporters that Syria and Algeria stand in the same trench against terrorism and against foreign interference in countries’ internal affairs.

He said the visit will be an opportunity to discuss means of boosting bilateral relations in addition to the situation in Syria and the foreign conspiracy hatched against the country.

Minister al-Moallem is on a three-day official visit to Algeria at the invitation of his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra.
