Syria beats Iraq 1-0 in a friendly football match

Tehran – Syria’s national football team beat its Iraqi counterpart in a friendly match 1-0 in Tehran on Friday as the two teams are preparing for the remaining matches of the joint Asian qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia 2018 and Asian Cup in UAE 2019, SANA reported.

Syria’s team is scheduled to meet its Cambodian counterpart next Thursday in Oman then the Japanese on 29 March. Syria’s team is the second in group 5 while the Japanese one is the first.

 

The first team of each 8 groups is quailed to the final phase of the World Cup qualifiers together with other four best teams which rank the second.
