Haidar: Successful Reconciliation Cases Depended on Syrians’ Will

DAMASCUS, (ST)- National Reconciliations in Syria and the cessation of hostilities agreement were the main topics discussed yesterday in a meeting between Minister of National reconciliation Ali Haidar and Kamal Kharrazi, Head of Strategic Council on Foreign Relations of Iranian Supreme Leader’s Administration.

Haidar presented a detailed review about local reconciliations and their mechanisms and goals.

He reiterated that “the success of reconciliation cases have depended of the Syrians’ will and this why the reconciliation process has been exposed to attacks by all who don’t have interest in such process, particularly the countries that have been supporting terrorist takfiri organizations in Syria.”

The minister affirmed the important role played by Iran and Russia in fighting terrorism, and hailed their firm stances on solving the crisis in Syria through national Syrian dialogue away from any foreign interference.

Haidar stressed the importance of dialogue among the Syrians, clarifying that hundreds of wanted gunmen have abandoned their weapons, turned themselves in to authorities and had their legal status settled within the framework of reconciliation cases.

On his part, Karrazi affirmed the importance of the achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army in the fight against terrorism; achievements that would prepare the environment for launching national dialogue in Syria.

He said local reconciliation is very important in the coming era as it helps attain political solution that preserves the sovereignty of the Syrian state.

Karrazi reiterated that Iran will keep supporting Syria in fighting terrorism and in launching national dialogue and local reconciliation.
