“The Nation against US-Zionist-Takfiri Aggression” resistance forum starts in Damascus

Under the auspices of President Bashar al-Assad, activities of the Arab and Islamic Gathering Forum on Supporting the Resistance started in Damascus on Saturday under the title “The Nation in the Face of the US-Zionist-Takfiri Aggression”.

28 Arab and Islamic states are taking part in the Forum, which is held at Damascus-based Opera House, according to SANA.

Participants in the two-day forum will discuss a number of issues related to Syria and Iraq, including ways of confronting the conspiracy targeting the two countries, enhancing the equation of “People, Army and Resistance” in facing organized terrorism and the Takfiri gangs and their supporters.

Focus will be placed on the need of political and military coordination among Syria, Iran and Russia to face terrorism and on the importance of maintaining the unity, Arabism and resistance role of Syria and Iraq.

In his opening speech, Secretary General of the Forum Yehia Ghaddar, expressed condemnation of the decisions of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League designating the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement as a terrorist group.

This decision, he said, is a renewed attempt to undermine the achievements which Hezbollah has made in the fight against the internationally and regionally-backed terrorist organizations in Syria.

Hezbollah Arab Relations official Hassan Ezz-Eddin affirmed that usurped territory and rights can only be restored via “the rifle and the resistance” and anything otherwise would be a waste of time.

He reiterated confidence in Syria achieving victory eventually, stressing that Palestine will always remain at the heart of the struggle against the Zionist enemy.
