Iraq’s Foreign Minister Urges Differentiation between Resistance and Terrorism

BAGHDAD, (ST)- Iraq’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari warned against not differentiating between resistance and terrorism.

Upon his arrival at Baghdad Airport coming from Cairo after taking part in an Arab League (AL) meeting during which AL foreign ministers issued a decision classifying Hizbollah as a terrorist organization, al-Jaafari said “a disaster will befall us if we don’t differentiate between resistance movements that sacrifice to defend national sovereignty and terrorist movements that spread death everywhere.”

“Hizbollah is a resistance movement that offers dearest things for preserving peace, security and stability in Lebanon,” al-Jaafari reiterated.

He said that Hizbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasralla “is a man of intellect, sacrifice and Jihad who insisted to keep resisting the Israeli occupation even after his son was martyred”.

He added “defending the Iraqi “Popular Mobilization Forces” at the Arab League meetings and at all international forums is “my duty towards a group of young people who dedicated themselves to defend Iraq and preserve it from enemies.”

Al-Jaafari condemned describing the Iraqi “Popular Mobilization Forces” as terrorists, stressing that without these forces Deash terrorists would spread to reach other Arab capitals.

At the Arab League Council meeting on Friday al-Jaafari asserted that the Iraqi “Popular Mobilization Forces” (Hashd al-Shaabi) and Hezbollah “have preserved the dignity of the Arabs and those who accuse them of terrorism are the terrorists.”

During al-Jaafari’s statement, the Saudi regime delegation walked out of the session because it considers resistance as terrorist and it agrees in this description with the Zionist entity.
