A step towards modernity
The cabinet has issued recently a special resolution providing for establishing new departments for producing electricity from renewal energy in the country’s all institutions in general and in al-Sweida agriculture directorate in particular .
The resolution aimed at ensuring all the governorate’s needs from electricity and it also worked on rationalizing electricity.
in a meeting with head of the new department of renewal energy in the city Agricultural Directorate the Engineer Nibal_al-Maaz said that the step of establishing the new department of Renewal energy and rationalization electricity aimed at putting an end for the electricity shortage in al-Sweida governorate due to the increased number of the governorate’s inhabitants, namely the homeless number.
The engineer also added that due to our homeland current crisis we are in a real need for rationalizing the consumption of electricity.
” we are currently facing notable shortage in the process of distribution in all the country’s various governorates and to achieve our aim regarding rationalizing the consumption of electricity the directorate of agriculture in Sweida has carried out symposiums and special workshops for raising the citizens’ awareness in this regard .”the engineer added .
“The symposiums aimed at raising the citizen’s awareness regarding the perfect benefit for the electricity power without waste “the engineer also said.
She also cited that the Directorate carried out technical steps in this regard.
Regarding the renewal energies the engineer also added that the Agriculture Directorate in Sweida and in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture established project for producing bio- gas from a natural raw material, namely from the dung of caws.
Answering a question on the benefit from wind energy the engineer said the mountainous location of al-Sweida governorate ensure the opportunity for benefiting from wind energy where the wind speed estimated at 7 m\sec.
“the directorate is currently carried out a special project for constructing a wind turbine for producing electricity in al-sweida and this project is under implementing.” the engineer also said, adding that the directorate in cooperation with Energy Research Center in Damascus is currently also working on ensuring the required equipments for benefiting from “sun energy” .
” There are private projects that carried out by certain citizens in the city for producing electricity from the energy of wind and these project proved its success.” The engineer concluded her statement.
