8 new breaches of cessation of hostilities in Syria by terrorist organizations during past 24 hours

Lattakia – The Russian center for the coordination of cessation of hostilities in Syria in Hmeimeem base announced on Monday that eight new breaches by terrorist organizations were observed during the past 24 hours, SANA reported.

The center explained in a statement on Monday that 3 breaches were registered in each of Aleppo and Idleb in addition to two breaches in Hama.

On Sunday, the center announced monitoring 15 breaches of cessation of hostilities by terrorist organizations during 24 hours in Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, Daraa and Idleb, whereas terrorists targeted on Monday afternoon al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo with a number of shells, killing 5 civilians and injuring several others.

The statement added that the armed groups that have declared their commitment to the cessation of hostilities numbered 35 after 5 leaders of the armed groups in Damascus accepted the cessation of hostilities in implementation of the Russian-US agreement adopted unanimously by the UN Security Council on February 26th in accordance with resolution No. 2268.

The Center mentioned indicators that show the intent of terrorist groups to foil the ceasefire in Syria.

The Center monitored on Sunday terrorists from ISIS gathering on the Turkish territories 1.5 km from the Syrian border who were preparing to launch an attack on al- Qamishli city after three days of monitoring convoys of weapons and ammunition entering from the Turkish territories to the areas where the so-called Ahrar al-Sham and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations are active.

On the other hand, the center pointed out that the Russian side held a meeting by telephone with representatives of International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in Geneva, the American center for coordination in Amman and the US Department of Defense during which discussions of the extent of commitment to the cessation of hostilities and delivering aid to various areas were held.

The cessation of hostilities in Syria does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusara and other organizations listed on the list of international terrorism.
