Syrian ‘Yasmin’ film takes part in Tetouan Cinema Festival’s competition
The Syrian ‘Yasmin’ film directed by al-Mohannad Kalthoum will compete 20 films from 14 Arab and European countries in the Tetouan International Mediterranean Cinema Festival to be started on March 26th.
The festival seeks this year to select films that shed light on the tragic and complicated situation in the Mediterranean countries because the cinema can help confront these tragedies through enhancing communication and co-existence.
The ‘Yasmin’ film [Jasmine film] depicts how the armed terrorist groups violet the human rights of children in Syria. It shows the effect of the terror war on the dreams and thoughts of the children and how those children see the war.
Displaced Syrian children suffered from the war on the country, some of them living in temporary shelters, play key roles in the film, al-Mohannad Kalthoum told the official news agency (SANA).
He underscored the need to explain the facts and face the reality through the Syrian cinema.
“Those Syrian children must tell the world how terrorism prevented them from their rights,” the director concluded.
