Nazarbayev: Implementing Cessation of Hostilities Agreement Guarantees Political Solution to Crisis in Syria

ASTANA, (ST)- Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev believes that implementing the recently- concluded Russian-US agreement regarding the  “cessation of hostilities” in Syria will guarantee reaching political solution to the crisis  in the country.

The Russian Sputnik News Agency reported on Wednesday that Nazarbayev, during his meeting with accredited diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan, welcomed the agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria and urged all parties to be fully committed to its implementation.

 

The agreement, which came into force on February 27th, witnessed violations (31 until yesterday evening) by the terrorist organizations in several areas. Some 100 ISIL terrorists attacked the city of Tal Abyad, northern Syria, coming from Turkey and committed crimes there. In addition, the terrorist organizations in the Syrian towns of Duma and Jubar have targeted residential districts in Damascus with several rocket shells, but the Syrian Army didn’t retaliated trying to make the agreement a success.

In another context Nazarbayev urged major nuclear states to be an example to be followed in terms of putting an end to nuclear armament.
