Good Turnout on Submission of Applications for Parliamentary Elections

PROVINCES, (ST)- The committees in charge of receiving candidacy applications for parliamentary elections in all Syrian provinces continue their work for the fifth day running amid good turnout by candidates on submission to run for the elections due to be held on April 13th.

Chairman of the Higher Committee for Elections Hisham al-Sha’ar described the turnout as very good.

On Saturday, the Higher Committee for Elections announced that the number of candidates for parliamentary elections reached 967 in the fourth day.

Concerned committees are due to continue receiving applications until March 1st.

The Syrian citizens realize the importance of wide and effective participating in the legislative elections and call on candidates to present clear programs that reflect and tackle citizens’ problems and serve people’s interests.

The Syrian youths believe that their effective participation in the forthcoming elections will be an important opportunity for them to prove their ability to shoulder responsibility as representatives of people.

According to the Syrian youths, casting their votes in the elections constitutes a challenge against current circumstances and the ongoing terrorist war in the country.
