Foreign Interference Foments Regional Crises, Says Velayati

Head of Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati said on Tuesday that foreign interference foments regional crises.

Velayati made the remarks in a meeting with the special envoy of the Finland Foreign Ministry Laresh Beckstrom.

In the meeting, Velayati said there is no military solution to the regional crises and the issue should be resolved through political means.

The two sides exchanged views on expansion of mutual relations along with regional and global developments.

 

Velayati expressed pleasure with the current visit of the Finish special envoy to Tehran, saying that relations between the two countries are developing as the two countries play positive role to help resolve international issues.

Referring to presence of Takfiri and terrorist groups in the Middle East region wining supports of some western as well as regional governments, he said all should deal with such phenomenon seriously.

Any decision should be made by the respective governments and people of Syria, Iraq and other countries engaged in fight with terrorists as they are the final decision makers on their fate, Velayati said.

The Finish special envoy, for his part highlighted the significant status of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and said that Iran plays a leading role to help resolve the regional and international issues and the Middle East crisis, in particular.

He called for benefiting from the invaluable experience and knowledge of the person of Mr. Velayati on helping settlement of the regional and global issues.
