Riyadh opposition and its masters make Geneva meeting a failure

It has become crystal clear that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are not willing to resolve the crisis in Syria peacefully through finding a political solution that express the interests of the Syrian people through conducting an inter Syrian dialogue. The masters of al-Riyadh delegation; Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar issued their orders, from the first moment, to make Geneva meeting a failure, as they did in Geneva 2 meeting. There was a problem in the absence of a list about who were the opposition and who were the terrorists.

The Syrian government delegation has proven to the whole world commitment, seriousness, discipline and sense of responsibility. On the other hand, we didn’t find one opposition, but a number of oppositions and contradicting groups, among them groups of persons who receive orders from external powers and masters.

The Riyadh delegation decided, since the arrival of al-Khouja and RiyadHejab, to withdraw from Geneva and de Mistura was informed and tried to save the track by announcing the suspension of the round. De Mistura tried one way or another to save the other side from embarrassment which that side would bring to itself and de Mistura to keep himself leading the process even in shape.

This behavior from the side of Riyadh group was irresponsible and unserious. Al-Riyadh group was not committed to the idea of coming to Geneva and engaging in indirect talks with the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic. The indirect talks have not officially started due to the delay in the arrival of “al-Riyadh delegation,” and its arrival with orders by its masters to make Geneva meeting a failure and withdraw before starting the indirect talks.

The mismanagement by the UN and the sides which organized this round and the misbehavior have taken several forms, first they didn’t respect the terms of resolution No. 2254 concerning the invitation of delegations from al-Riyadh, Cairo, Moscow and other groups of national parties which came from Damascus. Second, there was a slowness in dealing with those sides of the so-called oppositions. Al-Riyadh delegation arrived after 4 days and started to propose preconditions, rejecting to join the indirect talks officially.

The pre-conditioned proposals and the childish media campaign launched by al-Riyadh delegation aimed to turn the attention from the main goal of Geneva meetings; which means to start the round officially and discuss the agenda in a serious and responsible way.

As per resolution No. 2254, the dialogue held in Geneva is among Syrians and led by the Syrians themselves without preconditions and without foreign interference. The selection of the oppositions’ delegations, according to resolution No. 2254, is a Syrian-Syrian affair, and isn’t imposed by Riyadh or anyone else. The Syrians will decide on their own who will hold dialogue with the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation.

The terrorist attacks which targeted al-Sayyeda Zainab residential area in Damascus countryside come as part of the attempts of the terrorist organizations which are supported by governments of foreign countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to disrupt the start of Syrian- Syrian dialogue led by Syria. These terrorist bombings are part of the attempts by the armed terrorist organizations which are backed by foreign countries’ governments such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to disrupt the start of a Syrian- Syrian dialogue led by Syria,  spread terror among innocent civilians and to raise the morale of the armed terrorist organizations that are being defeated every day due to the great successes achieved by the Syrian Arab army in restoring security and peace to the areas where armed terrorist organizations are active.

What caught our attention is that the perpetrator of this crime had said in a statement that the bombing comes in support of the opposition delegation coming from Riyadh to participate in the talks with the government delegation in Geneva.

The developments in Geneva meeting and the terrorist bombings in a al-Sayyeda Zainabresidential area prove without any shade of doubt that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are responsible for the continuity of the crisis in Syria and the bloodshed of the Syrian people.
