Russian MiG to Sign MiG-35 Fighter Contract with Defense Ministry This Year

JSC Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG plans to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry on the delivery of MiG-35 fighters before the end of this year, MiG Deputy Director General Alexey Beskibalov told journalists.

The Russian Mikoyan MiG-35 (Fulcrum-F) jet fighter is a further development of the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-29K/KUB.

Right now the contract is in the negotiation stage, we expect it to be signed before the end of 2016…The plan is that the shipment of the first two aircraft under the contract will be carried out before the end of 2017,” Beskivalov said.

The MiG-35 aircraft was first presented internationally during the Aero India 2007 air show.
