Dialogue element turned Iran into a mighty player, says Araqchi

Deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs said on Friday dialogue element, depicted from Islamic Revolution’s culture, has turned Iran into a mighty player both in the regional and in the international scenes.

Seyyed Abbas Araqchi made the comment in the closing ceremony of the 1st Scientific and Practical Capabilities Workshop for Women’s Presence in International Societies.

‘In the nuclear negotiations we should notice the important point that six mighty world powers of the world had united to talk on the one side of a table on whose other side there was only Iran,’ he said.

Araqchi added that the first deduction from that situation is that the world believes that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a capable system.

Three major capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran made them decide to prefer talking with Iran rather than choosing any other solution. They include Iran’s defense capabilities, their losing hope in efforts aimed at urging Iran to kneel down due to sever economic sanctions, and finally Iran’s technical capabilities in the nuclear field,’ he said.

The top negotiator in the recent nuclear talks said that the other side had lost hope in launching a successful military attack against Iran.

‘I bear witness that if they could destroy our nuclear facilities in a military attack they would have done so, but they had lost hope in the success of such an initiative, because they knew our defense capabilities, our missile capabilities, and the power of our armed forces,’ he said.

Araqchi said that today no country in the region and beyond thinks about invading Iran, because they know they have to pay a high price for it, adding: That important point due to our defense capabilities.

He said that the powers prefer to talk with a power, and although the sanctions cost us, but they did not manage to make our people kneel down, and that was one of Iran’s big points of strength.

Araqchi also highlighted the power to talk effectively and strongly in achieving success in the nuclear talks.

He meanwhile ensured the women that if they will achieve high competence in their jobs, such as diplomatic capabilities in the Foreign Ministry they will have high priorities compared with men with same capabilities.

Tokyo, Tehran to sign investment deal – Japanese FM

On the other hand,  Japan and Iran will sign a bilateral investment agreement later on Friday, as the sanctions against Tehran have been lifted, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told a press conference in Tokyo on Friday.

A preliminary agreement on the issue was reached between the sides in October 2015, during Kishida’s visit to Iran.

Tonight, the investment agreement between Japan and Iran will be signed… I am very glad that it will be signed today,” Kishida said.

According to the diplomat, the deal will allow to expand the economic relations between the two countries and contribute to the implementation of agreements on the Iranian nuclear deal to promote peace and stability in the Middle East. The deal will be signed by the Kishida and Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayebnia in Tokyo.

The Japanese government decided to lift economic sanctions against Iran in January after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified that Tehran was complying with the nuclear agreement reached last summer.

Iran and six world powers — the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany – signed a nuclear deal in July 2015 to guarantee the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.

Earlier in January, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced that Tokyo seeks to develop cooperation with Iran in line with the removal of economic sanctions introduced by the UN Security Council.
