Promotion of Scientific Cooperation with Belarus

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Research and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Amer Al-Mardini recently discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Damascus Alexander Banoumarev possibilities of enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed ways of activating the executive program of the cultural agreement signed between the two countries in order to increase scholarships to support capacity of universities and delegates in a number of engineering and medical specialties.

 

Mr. al -Mardini underlined the importance of strengthening relations between the two friendly countries and to encourage the exchange of visits and academic delegations to support the continuity of cooperation at all levels.

For his part, the Ambassador of Belarus pointed to the depth of historical relations between the two countries and the contribution of Syrian graduates of Belarusian universities in the promotion of scientific and economic relations that formed a quantum leap in all areas.

 The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Abdul Munir Najem, Director of Cultural Relations Dr. Aqeel Mahfoud and Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry Rami KoJan.
