Syrian Art Exihibition in Germany Opened

The Syrian visual artist Mohammad Ghannom has underscored that Syria is still presenting civilization, art and culture despite the war and the terrorism that target the country’s civilization and culture.

His statements were made during the opening ceremony of his art gallery recently held in Heidelberg city in Germany at an invitation from the Association of Arab Culture and Art Friends.

Channom, who is one of the famous artists in the modern Arab art, exhibited 26 paintings on Damascus, Palmyra, Ibla, Ugarit, Maaloula, homeland, love, the Holy Quran and life in his 8th art gallery held in Germany.

He also held two workshops on Arabic calligraphy to brief the German audiences on the beauty of the Arabic letter.

“The language of the visual art does not need a translation,” said Ghannom, who has received several awards in Tehran and Paris.

About 66 art exhibitions were held by the Syrian artist in Syria and in other countries all over the world.

Last Tuesday, the ‘True Promise’ Institute organized an art exhibition whose proceeds will go towards care of the wounded Syrian soldiers.

The exhibition, held in the Damascus Opera House, included 32 paintings showing the beauty of the Syrian woman.

“Everyone is able to support the wounded soldiers, especially if efforts are united to support those who sacrifice their lives for Syria,”  President Bashar al-Assad’s media and political advisor Buthaina Shaaban said during the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Since 2011, Syria, the cradle of civilizations, has faced a terror war targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures.
