Assistant Secretary General of the Syrian National Youth Party has affirmed that the opposition delegation formed in Riyadh represents the political vision of foreign countries and not that of the Syrian’s.
Soher Sermini told the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper that the internal Syrian opposition does not accept to be represented by any member of the external opposition, adding that her party has not yet received an invitation to attend Geneva talks scheduled to start on Friday.
“There is nothing fixed and final as the UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said in a news conference held two days ago that the talks could last for 6 months. During this period, names could be added because internal opposition, which represents a political solution for the crisis stemmed from the suffering of the Syrian people, is supposed to take part in the talks,” she added.
Sermini indicated that the Syrian opposition in the upcoming Geneva talks will be represented by delegations formed in Riyadh, Moscow 2 meeting and Cairo.
The slogan of the Syrian National Youth Party is “Freedom, Justice and Building” and it is seeking a better future for Syrian youth.
No solution without internal opposition
On December 9th, the internal opposition said in a conference held in Damascus that no solution could be reached to the crisis in Syria without participation of internal opposition.
Well over 10-15 opposition members were nominated – during the conference -as representatives for the internal opposition to participate in the upcoming Geneva talks after receiving the invitations.
Geneva communique provides for the participation of the full spectrum of the Syrian opposition in talks with representatives of the Syrian government.
Repeatedly, Syrian government has asserted that it is open to any sincere effort to overcome the crisis, and ready to participate in efforts whereby Syrians would take part in a Syrian process without foreign intervention, and which maintained its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ongoing political process coincides with decisive blows delivered to terrorist organizations and their supporters, mainly Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, in the northern countryside of Lattakia and in Daraa countryside as well as in Aleppo countryside.
Many strategic areas were recaptured this month by the Syrian Arab army in cooperation with Russian air forces in the said provinces.
