Information Minister and Indian ambassador discuss enhancing media cooperation

Damascus – Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi asserted the importance of enhancing media cooperation between Syria and India.

Meeting Indian Ambassador in Syria Man Mohan Bhanot Sunday, al-Zoubi pointed out that Syria is ready to offer the possible facilities and services for the Indian media outlets and journalists who are willing to visit Syria to inspect the truth of what is happening on ground, SANA reported.

 Signed media agreement between the two countries in 2010 need to be activated and expanded by media institutions, the Minister added.

The minister called on for taking urgent and active measures to end the broadcasting monopoly policy followed by countries that sponsor and fund terrorism as Saudi Arabia.

For his part, Bhanot hailed the Syrian- Indian relations as “strong and solid”, affirming the necessity of boosting media cooperation between the two countries through continuing what was agreed upon previously and going ahead towards improving and developing the media agreements.
