World Powers Must Cooperate With Iran on Regional Security

Luxembourg Parliament Speaker Mars Di Bartolomeo on Sunday hailed Iran’s efforts to bring about peace and security in the region, saying world powers have to cooperate with Tehran to restore regional security, IRNA reported.

Bartolomeo made the remarks speaking to reporters after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.

‘Sometimes we forget that Europe experienced the deadliest wars 70 years ago and could restore peace in the region by fostering unity among the yesterday enemies,’ Bartolomeo said, adding that yesterday enemies are today’s friends.

Referring to a nuclear deal reached between Iran and the six world powers last July, Bartolomeo congratulated the Iranian government and nation on putting an end to years of unnecessary nuclear dispute.

Asked how Iran nuclear deal to be accomplished in the next few hours could affect banking relations between Iran and Luxemburg, Bartolomeo said that Luxemburg boasts a high status in banking system and will be grateful to have good banking and financial cooperation with Iran.
