Journalists from 30 media institutions visit Kwairis military airport

Aleppo – An Iranian, Turkish and Arab media delegation visited on Monday Kwairis military airport and a number of villages where the army has established control in Aleppo eastern countryside.

The delegation, which comprises reporters from 30 media institutions including Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Turkey and Iran, met a number of commanders and combatants who achieved the most prominent heroism ever recorded throughout history, SANA reported.

Major General Munzer Zammam, commander the Airport, briefed the journalists on the strategic importance of the airport and the struggle of soldiers they have shown when it was besieged by terrorist organizations.

For his part, colonel Suheil al-Hassan, a field commander, pointed out to the importance of lifting the siege on the airport and the heroism recorded by the Syrian army soldiers while confronting the Takfiri terrorist groups and smashing the strong fortifications, tunnels and barricades set up by terrorists in the surroundings of the airport.

 

He affirmed that terrorists of the Islamic State (ISIS) have used more than 70 car bombs to attack the villages and towns which surround Kwairis airport in a bid to storm it, but they failed.

Later, members of the media delegation visited a number of villages and town where the army has recently established control on, including villages of Jrouf, sharba’a, Aisha and Najara, inspecting the volume of destruction affected to the citizens’ properties at the hands of terrorist organizations.
