Al-Moallem Starts Official Visit to India

NEW DELHI, (ST)- Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Walid al-Moallem arrived in New Delhi on Monday for talks with Indian officials on the situation in the region and ways to enhance bilateral relations.

Al-Moallem will meet Sushma Swaraj, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, and some other government functionaries during his four-day official visit, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup told AFP.

 India, a BRICS member, calls for finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria through dialogue among the Syrians away from any foreign interference. It also urges respecting the Syrian state sovereignty, maintaining Syria’s unity and seriously fighting terrorism in accordance with international laws and in coordination with the Syrian government.
