Talking about resolving the Syrian crisis through dialogue without halting the influx of terrorists into Syria is hypocrisy, because it would aggravate the crisis to achieve sinister political objectives by the US and its allies.
There is a necessity of focusing efforts on drying up the sources of terrorism and stopping infiltration of terrorists into Syria from Turkey and Jordan. Draining sources of terrorism is in compliance with the Security Council’s resolutions relevant to combating terrorism, especially resolution No. 2253, and would help in pushing forward the political solution to the crisis in Syria.
There is also a necessity for establishing an international front to combat terrorism under the auspices of the United Nations and according to the international legitimacy in parallel with supporting the political settlement of the crisis in Syria.
If anyone should be held accountable for what happened in Syria, they should be Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The Saudi regime’s acts are inseparable from the acts of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and thus this regime cannot be part of the war against terrorism. This regime is not qualified to hold such meeting as it explicitly supports these armed terrorist groups.
If the Qatari foreign Minister doesn’t know the reason why some are bearing arms against the Syrian state, then he should ask his masters in his country’s intelligence and their masters in the West, who will explain to him that they have a problem with the Syrian state because of its national and pan-Arab stances and because it will never be a lowly, subservient subordinate like Qatar. The Qatari defense of terrorism not only reflects Qatar’s involvement in international terrorism, but also indicates its persistence in supporting takfiri terrorism in defiance of UN resolutions, including the recent resolution No. 2253.
The meeting that had been held in Saudi Arabia for the so-called Syrian opposition witnessed the participation of terrorist groups and figures that actually do not represent the opposition. Those terrorist groups can only be faced in combat not in meetings. Holding dialogue will be only with genuine opposition forces that exist on the ground and have influence.
Turkey continues to provide a cover for ISIS oil smuggling operations from Syria and Iraq into Turkey before heading to ports abroad.
Syrian army is making progress on all fronts backed by the Russian air force.
The U.S.-led coalition has been ineffective against the ISIS and the other terrorist organizations.Washington’s talk on a moderate armed opposition gives the US no credit in the fight against terrorism. The U.S. goals are still the same, meddling in countries’ internal affairs, toppling regimes, investing in terrorism and supporting the armed terrorist groups.
Syria welcomes any Russian effort in the framework of fighting terrorism. The Russian support for Syria has contributed to the achievements of the Syrian army.
The Russian airstrikes in Syria have so far outdone by hundred times the US-led coalition in the fight against ISIS.
Syria will continue to fight terrorism until cleansing the Syrian lands of terrorists at all costs. The international community should stand for honesty and truth by stopping the flow of terrorists coming from a hundred countries to establish an Islamic Caliphate.
Syria’s firm commitment to the political track goes in parallel with fighting terrorism. How can we ask the Syrian people to go to the ballot boxes when they are not safe in their houses and streets, when shells fired by terrorist organizations fall everywhere in the country.
The Syrian people stand firm in their battle defending Syria’s territorial integrity and will not accept any foreign interference in their right to self-determination.
