Information Minister: Qatari FM’s statements reflect Qatar’s persistence in supporting terrorism

In response to statements by Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid Al Attiyah, Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that if Al Attiyah doesn’t know the reason why some are bearing arms against the Syrian state, then he should ask his masters in his country’s intelligence and their masters in the West, who will explain to him that they have a problem with the Syrian state because of its national and pan-Arab stances and because it will never be a lowly, subservient subordinate like Qatar is.

In a statement, reported by SANA on Friday, al-Zoubi said that Al Attiyah’s defense of terrorism not only reflects Qatar’s involvement in international terrorism, but also reflects its persistence in supporting terrorism in defiance of UN resolutions, including the recent resolution no. 2253.

The Minister said that if anyone should be held accountable for what happened in Syria, it should be Al Attiyah, Qatar, and his masters in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, adding that Al Attiyah and his Saudi counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir are like shadow puppets in their statements, as people laugh at them and wonder which of them is dumber than the other.
