America Should Be Grateful to Russia, Says Huckabee

The United States should thank Russia for its actions in the Middle East, Says Mike Huckabee 2016 Republican presidential candidate.

Washington should hail Russia’s efforts in fighting the Daesh terrorist group, also known as ISIS, said the former Arkansas Governor, adding that If Kremlin wants to get rid of Daesh, America shouldn’t hinder his endeavor, reported the Russian news outlet Sputnik on Sunday.

‘If Russia is willing to help us kill some of these savages, then I’m more than willing to at least recognize that on this issue…they are with us, not against us’ Huckabee said.

Huckabee said that the Jihadi groups posed the primary threat against the US, and it was essential to focus on Daesh, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram and domestic terrorism, putting differences with Russia on hold.

He added that if he were president of the US, he would intensify air strikes on Daesh supply lines.

‘You don’t go over and fly over and just wave,’ Huckabee said, as cited by Breitbart News, arguing it is important to stop terrorist supplies from moving and to shut off their access to social media.’

Speculations are high that the United States has abandoned the idea of overthrowing current Syrian government.

Such a change of course could be the merit of Russian policy in Syria, pundits maintain.

Other Western governments also have announced that the fight against Daesh terrorists for them is of a higher priority.
