‘Allah Decided to Punish Turkey Leaders By Making Them Lose Their Minds’

Russia’s President said that Allah, apparently, decided to punish Turkey’s leadership by making them lose their minds.

Russia’s president said: “We were ready to cooperate with Turkey on any sensitive issue and were ready to go much further than [Turkey’s other] allies were willing to,” the Russian Sputnik reported.

Earlier, on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia had received additional evidence that oil from fields controlled by Daesh, which is prohibited in Russia, were being transported to Turkey on an industrial scale.

“Only Allah knows, why they did it,” Putin said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his family are involved in the illegal deliveries of oil from the Islamic State, known in the Arab world as Daesh and whose activities are prohibited in Russia, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said earlier Wednesday.

“It’s the duty of every civilized country to take part in the defeat of terrorists,” Vladimir Putin said.

Moscow has been conducting pinpoint airstrikes on terrorist positions, particularly those of Islamic State, in Syria.

On November 24, a Russian Su-24 attack aircraft was downed by an air-to-air missile while carrying out precision strikes against terrorist positions in northern Syria.

“I do not understand why they did it. Any problem — even that which we might have missed — could have been dealt with in a different way,” Russia’s president stressed.

Both the Russian General Staff and the Syrian Air Defense Command have confirmed that the Su-24 never crossed into Turkish airspace and was illegally downed on Syrian territory.

In the wake of the incident, Russia introduced a set of economic measures against Turkey, while Ankara has refused to apologize for the move.

Russia has a lot of longtime and trusted friends in Turkey, who should know that Moscow does not equate them to the Turkish government, according to Putin.

We Know Who Benefits From Oil Smuggling Operations in Turkey – Putin

Vladimir Putin said “Russia knows who benefits from oil smuggling in Turkey and who is recruiting new militants.”

“We know, for example, who is filling their pockets and who is allowing terrorists to profit from oil stolen from Syria in Turkey. This is the money the criminals use to recruit mercenaries, purchase weapons, organize inhuman terrorist attacks against our people, the people of France, Lebanon and Mali,” Putin said, addressing the Federal Assembly.

The president stressed that Russia differentiated between the Turkish people and its leadership.

“The Turkish people are kind, hardworking and talented. We have many old and trustworthy friends in Turkey. And I stress – they must know that we do not equate them to the part of the current authorities who are directly responsible for the deaths of the our servicemen in Turkey,” Putin said.

Russia has repeatedly stated that Turkey is the main consumer of illegal oil from Syria and Iraq, accusing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his family of direct involvement in the oil business of the Islamic State terrorist group, known as Daesh in the Arab world and outlawed in Russia.

Erdogan responded to Russian accusations of his family’s involvement in Daesh oil smuggling by claiming he would resign if unquestionable evidence on the matter was presented.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday Moscow would hand over to the United Nations and all interested countries solid proof of Turkey’s involvement in illicit oil trade with terrorists.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, IS earns around $2 billion annually, spending these funds on hiring terrorists from around the world and equipping them with weapons.
