LONDON, (ST)-The British Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that the UK conducted its first airstrikes against the positions of ISIL terrorist organization in Syria without disclosing the details and the results of the attacks.
The operation was carried out shortly after the majority in the British House of Common in the early hours of Thursday voted with “yes” to Britain’s joining of Washington’s alleged anti- ISIL coalition.
A spokesman of the Defense Ministry said that shortly after the vote in the early hours of Thursday, four British jets took off from the UK’s Royal Air Force base in Cyprus. He provided no further details about the goals of the strikes.
The ministry’s refraining to provide details about the results and destinations of the operation comes within the framework of the propaganda of the US-led coalition which claims it is fighting the terrorist organization calling itself the “Islamic State” (ISIL or Daesh) yet reporting no results or any damage caused to the terrorist organization which has expanded since this US-led coalition was established.
