Shaaban: Arab Intellectuals Should Document Zionist Crimes

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed that all Arab intellectuals, historians and lawyers should spare no effort to document the Zionist criminal acts, and all journalists should uncover these crimes before the world public opinion.

Shaaban made the remarks on Tuesday at the opening of a forum organized by al-Quds International Foundation in Syria under the title “Intifada till Victory” in commemoration of the International Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian people.

On his part, Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi stressed that the Palestinian cause is the core issue in the region because it is connected with the existence of Palestine.

“The Palestinian people’s intifada proves that the Arabism and sacredness of Palestine and the identity of the Palestinian people aren’t subjects for debate or controversy,” al-Zou’bi said.

He added that the Syrian generations have grown up on commitment and loyalty to the Palestinian cause and on support for the Palestinian people in the confrontation of the Israeli occupation’s aggressive acts.

“Syria is facing a terrorist war because of its defense of the Palestinian cause,” the minister said, adding that the Syrians have the honor to sacrifice for the sake of Palestine.

“On the Day of Solidarity with Palestine we expect the world to voice solidarity with us as Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian and Palestinian nationalists and with other nationalists in the Arab world,” al-Zou’bi said.

He expressed confidence that the just cause of the Palestinian people will triumph and Syria will achieve victory in its battle against terrorism thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army.

The Chief Archbishop of Sebastia for the Greek Orthodox Atallah Hanna, who addressed the Forum from al-Quds, said “the attack on Syria is an attack on the Palestinian people and al-Quds.”

“When you defend Syria you defend the Palestinian cause, because Syria is the symbol of dignity, resistance and steadfastness,” Archbishop Hanna added.
