Al-Halaqi to Supreme Council of Tourism: Activating internal tourism and enhancing its stability

DAMASCUS – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed on Thursday the government’ keenness to promote the developmental sectors due to their important role in the comprehensive development process which Syria will witness soon and their role in enhancing capabilities of the national economy and the stability of Syrian pound.

Chairing a meeting of the Supreme Council of Tourism which discussed finding mechanisms that will contribute to reinvigorating the tourism sector, al-Halaqi hailed the efforts of the Council and Tourism Ministry in activating the tourist work in Syria, SANA reported.

 The Premier affirmed the importance of activating the popular, religious and coastal tourism and encouraging the national investment in this sector as Syria has ravishing natural landscape and unique historical heritage.

For his part, Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi said that this meeting is a message to everyone to the effect that we will rebuild all what terrorism had destroyed.

The Council also discussed a number of issues and adopted decisions that will contribute to developing the tourism sector.
