Al-Jaafari: Syrians will not abandon their right to restore the occupied Golan

New York – Syria’s Permanent envoy to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari affirmed that the crisis to which Syria is passing through “will not affect our commitment to our inalienable right to restore the occupied Syrian Golan till June, 4th  1967 line, with all means guaranteed by the international Law and the UN Charter”, SANA reported.

 “We have to bear a collective responsibility to end the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories including the Occupied Syria Golan and face the countries that manipulate in the United Nations and hinder its responsibilities,” al-Jaafari said in a speech at a UN General Assembly session.

 He referred to the Israeli violations and repressive acts against people of the Occupied Syrian Golan, affirming that Israel exploits the natural resources in Golan where the Israeli Afek oil company drilled in a number of areas in the Occupied Syrian Golan in a clear violation of the international law and Geneva accord of 1949.

Al-Jaafari added that the Israeli procedures must stop immediately and Israel should withdraw from the Syrian Golan until June 4th, 1967 line, calling on UN member countries to vote in favor of a draft law, entitled “Syrian Golan”, in line with UNSC resolution 497 for 1981 which considered that Israel’s decision of annexing Golan as null and void.
